EAST LANSING – The Big Ten Network announced in a release Tuesday that former Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins will join Kevin Kugler in the broadcast booth for the Spartans’ upcoming spring game.
Cousins, a current player for the Washington Redskins, will add color commentary for both the BTN and BTN2Go broadcasts of the annual spring game at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26 live from Spartan Stadium in East Lansing.
Cousins finished his career as Michigan State’s all-time record holder in passing touchdowns (66) passing yards (9,131), completions (7230, passing efficiency (146.1 rating), total offense (9,004 yards), and 200-yard passing games (26). His career spanned from 2008 to 2011 and included appearances in the Outback Bowl and Capital One Bowl.
BTN also announced Lisa Byington will assume the role of sideline reporter for the broadcast.
The network will follow up coverage of the spring game with highlights and analysis on its BTN Football Report at 6 p.m.
