MOUNT PLEASANT – Former Central Michigan quarterback Alex Niznak will transfer to Southeast Missouri State University, Nate Schneider of the Morning Sun reported Sunday.
Niznak played in four games in 2013 and started one. He redshirted his freshman year and did not see action at quarterback during his sophomore season.
CMU coach Dan Enos announced in February that Niznak left the program. Now it looks like the former Ithaca High School standout is happy where he landed.
“I would like to thank everyone who has supported me on my academic and athletic path these past years it has meant the world to me. Thank you,” Niznak said on his Twitter account.
“I am excited to join an outstanding program with great people as I open a new life chapter at SEMO #brickbybrick.”
CMU hosted and defeated SEMO 37-27 in the season opener in 2012. That’s probably where Niznak got his first glimpse of the RedHawks program.
