CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The SEC Network, which launches Aug. 14, announced Thursday that it will televise Eastern Michigan’s matchup against Florida this season.
Florida will host Eastern Michigan at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Fla., making the game one of the first contests the new network will televise. It is slated to televise 45 football games this fall.
Florida defeated Eastern Michigan 49-10 in the first and only meeting between the two schools in 2004. The Gators are 12-1 all-time against the current members of the Mid-American Conference. They most recently beat Toledo 24-6 in 2013, while their only loss came against Miami (OH), 34-12 , in the Tangerine Bowl in 1973.
Eastern Michigan opens its season against visiting Morgan State on Saturday, Aug. 30.
