Eastern Michigan’s first-year coaching staff is all over the map with its recruiting efforts this offseason. Seriously.
The Eagles have already offered scholarships to players who live in Florida, Mississippi, Texas, and Wisconsin, among other states. On Thursday, Eastern Michigan offered Tucker Spears, a recruit from Dakota Dunes, South Dakota (Bishop Heelan Catholic).
Eastern Michigan is the first Football Bowl Subdivision school to offer the 6-foot-5, 220-pound tight end/defensive end.
Spears’ brother, Connor, currently plays as a walk on at USC.
