Houston Cougars hire former Eastern Michigan assistant coach

University of Houston announced Tuesday that it has hired former Eastern Michigan assistant coach Bruce Gregory as its new Associate Athletic Director for Auxilary Services, a school release stated.

Gregory spent five years in Ypsilanti (1998-2003) as an assistant director of compliance, director of football operations and assistant football coach. He landed at Coastal Carolina after leaving Eastern Michigan and spent the past 11 years as senior associate athletics director for internal operations there.

He earned a master’s degree in sports administration from Eastern Michigan in 2003.

Prior to his stint with the Eagles, he worked as an assistant coach for several teams, including Bowling Green State, another Mid-American Conference school. His father, Jack, is the a former athletics director at Bowling Green.
