The Outland Trophy named two Michigan State offensive linemen to its pre-season watch list Thursday, the award announced.

The trophy, given to the best interior lineman by the Football Writers Association of America, picked junior Jack Allen, a 6-foot-2, 300-pound center from Hinsdale, Illinois (Hinsdale Central), and sophomore Jack Conklin, a 6-foot-6, 330-pound offensive tackle from Plainwell (Plainwell).

Allen has played in 25 career games, including 24 starts (19 at center, five at left guard). He earned Freshman All-American honors in 2012 and enters his third season as a starter on the Spartans’ offensive line.
